Restricting Page Access
Page visibility can be restricted to contacts who meet your defined conditions, such as whether they've entered their contact details to sign-up, whether they're in a specific contact group, or whether they have completed a purchase.
This can be useful in the following circumstances:
Restricting pages of your website until a guest registers.
Restricting pages to members only (where members are contacts in a specific group).
Restricting pages to contacts who have purchased a product.
Restricting A Page To Registered Contacts
To help build your contact database, you may specify that certain website pages are only accessible after a contact has registered:
Navigate to Dashboard > Website > Pages, and click the three dots next to the Page you wish to restrict.
In
the drop-down menu, click "SEO & Page Settings", followed by the "Attributes and Security" tab.
Under
the "Security" section, select the option "New Ruleset".
Select
"Registered Contacts".
You
may define a Heading and Description to be used when notifying visitors to register for your website.
Optionally,
you may also specify that visitors are able to browse a number of website pages before being access restricted.
Restricting A Page To Certain Conditions
You can use the conditions engine to allow access based on groups, sales, analytics, form submissions or any other data within Oncord. As an example, the instructions below will only allow access to a page if the recognized contact is in a Group.
Navigate to Dashboard > Website > Pages, and click to edit the Page you wish to restrict.
In the drop-down menu, click "SEO & Page Settings", followed by the "Attributes and Security" tab.
Under
the "Security" section, select "New Ruleset", followed by "Contacts Who Meet Conditions".
Add
a new Condition, select "Groups - In at least one of these groups", and select the relevant group(s).
You
may define a Heading and Description to be used when notifying visitors why they're unable to access the page.
