Setting Up Product Reviews
You can allow customers to leave reviews on product pages by adding comments rules. This guide walks through enabling comments for products and disabling them for category pages.
Enable Comments for Products Pages
- Navigate to Dashboard > Website > Comments.
- Click the three-dot menu at the top of the page.
- Click Configuration.
- Then click "Add a Rule to Enable Comments".
- In the Edit Rule window, set Rule type to Enable comments.
-
Under Enable comments for, enter /products/ and choose Only pages underneath this page.
- Update Heading text for comments to Leave a Review.
- Enable Ratings if you want customers to leave a star rating.
-
Configure Text for ratings, Moderation before publishing, and Administrator notification e-mails
as needed.
- Select Save rule.
After saving the rule, a “Leave a Review” field will appear on each product page.
Because the categories section sits underneath /products/, the same field will also show on category pages. To
avoid that, create another rule to disable comments for the categories page.
Disable Comments for Categories Page
For more details about Comments function, please see Managing Comments.
- On the Configuration page, select Add a Rule to Enable Comments.
- In the Edit Rule window, set Rule Type to Disable Comments.
-
Under Enable Comments For, enter /products/categories and choose Both this page and
pages underneath this page.
- Select Save rule.
This removes the review field from category views while keeping it on individual product pages.
To learn more about how comment rules work on your site, please see Managing Comments in the Oncord documentation.
