Managing Email Designs

E-mail designs help maintain a consistent look and feel across your e-mail messages by defining global elements like your logo, fonts, colours, header, and footer.

The content of your e-mail messages will be placed within your e-mail design - usually between the header and footer.

An e-mail design is automatically created when you first generate a Website Design.

Viewing and Editing Email Designs

To manage your e-mail designs:

  1. Navigate to Dashboard > Website > Designs.
  2. Under the "E-mail Designs" heading, you’ll see your available designs.
  3. Each design has a reference title. To rename a design, hover over the title and click the pencil icon, or click Settings in the left panel when editing the design.

Creating a New Email Design

To create a new e-mail Design:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Website > Designs.
  2. Under the "E-mail Designs" heading, click New E-mail Design.
  3. A standard e-mail design will be created, ready for you to customise.

Setting the Default Email Design

When you have multiple e-mail designs, it’s important to nominate one as the default. New e-mail messages will use the default e-mail design, unless a different design has been manually selected within the settings for the e-mail message.

To nominate a default e-mail design:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Website > Designs.
  2. Under "E-mail Designs", click the three-dot icon on the desired design.
  3. Select Make E-mail Default from the menu.

The default design will be marked with a "DEFAULT" label next to its title.

Changing Dependencies

If you've created a new e-mail design, you can update existing e-mail messages to use the new design.

To change design dependencies:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Website > Designs.
  2. Under "E-mail Designs", find the previous e-mail design.
  3. Click the three-dot icon on that design and select Change Dependencies.
  4. Choose the new e-mail design that should be applied to e-mail messages using the old design.

All existing messages using the previous design will be updated to use the new design.
