Links & Buttons

Links and buttons help guide visitors through your website - directing to another page, or prompting a download. This guide explains how to link text and images, as well as how to create buttons, and customize their appearance and behavior.

Link Text or an Image

You can turn any text or image into a link.

  • Log in to your Oncord Dashboard and go to Website > Pages.
  • Open the page you'd like to edit.
  • Select the text or image you want to link.
  • In the top toolbar, click the link icon.

Link Options:

  • Page on your website – Choose a page from your site.
  • External URL – Paste in a link to another website.
  • E-mail address – Launch an email window with a pre-filled recipient, subject, or message.
  • Heading on this page – Link to a section on the same page.
  • File / PDF – Upload a file and link to it.

Edit or Remove a Link

  • Select the linked element.
  • Click the link icon, located in the top toolbar.
  • Make changes, or click Remove Link to delete it.

Add a Button to a Page

Buttons are a great way to encourage action - such as “Contact Us,” “Buy Now,” or “Download PDF.”

Insert a Button:

  1. Open the page editor (Dashboard > Website > Pages).
  2. Click the Insert button on the left.
  3. Under Common, drag and drop the Button element into the page.
  4. Click the button text to edit the label.

To style and link your button:

  1. Click the " " icon on the button, then choose Edit.
  2. Customize the look and feel:
    • Variant – Choose from pre-defined styles.
    • Background / Font Color
    • Border / Rounded Corners / Padding
  3. Set the Link To option to define what the button does when clicked:
    • Page on your website
    • External URL
    • Email address
    • File or phone number

Check Your Links

After creating or editing hyperlinks, you can scan your entire website for broken or incorrect links:

  1. Go to Dashboard > Website > Pages.
  2. In the top menu, click Check Links to generate a link report.

Best Practices

Keep link text clear and descriptive, like “Download Brochure”, or "About Us", rather than using generic text like “Click here", or "Read more".
