Managing Comments

You can use comments to collect feedback on blog posts. This guide walks through enabling comments, creating comments manually, and managing comment rules.

Enabling Comments for Posts

You can enable Comments in the Posts Category. All posts in that category will follow the same rule.

  • Go to Dashboard > Posts > Categories.
  • Select the category you want to edit.
  • Tick the "Enable Comments" option.
  • Click the "Save Category" button.

After enabling Comments, a comment field will appear at the bottom of all posts within that category.

Managing Comments

  • Navigate to Dashboard > Website > Comments.
  • The list shows all comments, including the date, comment text, author, and moderation status.
  • Use the Search field to filter comments by keyword.

Await Approval

Comments that require moderation appear under the Await Approval tab.

You can enable approval requirements in the comment configuration settings.

  • Open the Await Approval tab to review pending comments.
  • Click the "Approve" button to publish a comment.
  • Approved comments will be moved to the Approved tab.

Creating a New Comment

You can manually create comments from the Comments area of the Dashboard.

To do this:

  • Go to Dashboard > Website > Comments.
  • Select New Comment at the top of the page.
  • Enter the date, time, and URL.
  • Choose a Rating if you use ratings on your site and type the comment text in the Comment field.
  • Set the Status (for example, Approved or Pending).
  • Under Author, search for an existing contact or enter a Full name and Contact e-mail.
  • Click Save Comment.

Editing Comments Rules

You can use comments rules to control where comments appear on your site and how they behave.

To edit Comment Rules:

  • On the Comments page, click the three-dot menu at the top of the screen.
  • Select Configuration. You’ll see a list of existing rules. If a rule is already linked to your blog posts, it appears here.
  • Click the rule to edit.

Inside the Edit Rule window, you can:

  • Choose whether to Enable comments or Disable comments.
  • Enter the page URL and choose how the rule should apply under Enable comments for.
    • You can apply the rule to this page only, to pages underneath it, or to both.
  • Update the Heading text for comments.
  • Turn on Ratings if you want visitors to leave a 5-star rating.
  • Enable Moderation before publishing.
  • Add Administrator notification e-mails for new comment alerts.

After making changes, select Save Rule.

You can also add new rules by clicking the "Add a Rule to Enable Comments" button.

Tip: You can also enable Comments for products to have product review function on your product page. Please see Setting Up Product Reviews for more details.
